Jul 09 What if we knew how hospice and palliative care will shape healthcare in the future?
Cooper and Nicole welcome Jennifer Kennedy, Senior Director of Regulatory and Quality at the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO), for a chat on the future of hospice and palliative care. Jennifer would love to see some kind of directed funding with a continnuim in place where palliative care would be the lead provider. Wouldn’t it be great if we could have the healthcare system recognize the boomerang that chronically ill patients face in our medical system and instead of staying in a cycle that spirals care downward and costs upward these patients could be placed into the system where palliative care could take the lead to make sure the patients needs were met?
